For the record, I have played and beat both Suikoden and Suikoden II, back to back, when I first played it in high school in 2001. I was talking with a friend of mine about Breath of Fire III when he said I just HAD to play these games and practically forced me to borrow them. It actually took a while to get into the first game, but once I did I couldn’t put them down!
Fast forward several years and here I am, finally with an excuse to pick this series up again! I was a little apprehensive about playing the second game without refreshing myself on the first, but so far it hasn’t been an issue. The visuals are even better than I remembered, the music is excellent and the writing, save for a steady stream of grammar and spelling issues, is surprisingly engaging and often hilarious. I’m really glad to be reminded what makes this game so great!
